Culture for Change

In an increasingly polarized and conflict-ridden world, bridging divides, promoting human rights, and sustaining democratic values is crucial. The EU is based on the respect for fundamental values such as freedom, democracy and equality. Here culture can play a vital role in supporting and upholding these values central to all members of the international community also in other countries and regions where equality and freedom is not respected.
 

More than art and entertainment, culture is a powerful tool for sparking debate, broadening perspectives, and driving societal growth. Yet culture can also reinforce biases, stigmatize others, and maintain unequal structures.  

How then, can culture help solve global societal challenges? In what ways can it promote freedom of speech and self-determination? Can culture help safeguard human rights? How do we assure that culture is used to enable positive change? And how does working with this look like in practice?  

Join us to explore these questions, and more, at Culture for Change! Guest are welcome to mingle and enjoy some wine from 17:00. The seminar starts at 17:30 in Barockhallen at the Swedish History Museum.  

This will be an evening filled with inspiring discussion, interactive elements, and a musical performance by world renowned musical activist Ramy Essam! Register no later than November 12th to secure your place.
