Biomimicry

- learning from nature to solve human challenges of design

What?

Webinar dialogue on the topic of nature as inspiration for designing our future and strategies for wellbeing. We might also start a subgroup connected to GNH based on Biomimicry.

How?

Join the webinar meeting and participate in the dialogue.  We will bring up our deep questions about life and start designing answers together with nature. Prepare by bringing your own most crucial question and/or just contribute to others.

When?

On 23 of February at 4 PM CET and finish after maximum 45 min. If we like it we book a new meeting.

Why do we need to learn from nature?

We’re stressed. Our planet is stressed. Many are losing hope for solving the climate crisis and its many negative effects on ecosystems across the world. Biomimicry gives us hope, because we know the solutions for our greatest challenges are here, accessible, and validated by the many species still alive today. By using nature as our mentor, we get to experience the powerful healing effects it has by connecting to the natural world — while also finding empowering relief to solve these challenges together.

How do we learn from nature?

Innovators turn to biomimicry with the hope of achieving a unique product that is efficient and effective, but they often gain a deep appreciation of and connection to the natural world. We can also use biomimicry to not only learn from nature’s wisdom, but also heal ourselves and this planet in the process.

“When we look at what is truly sustainable, the only real model that has worked over long periods of time is the natural world.”
