KTH Humanities Tech Event "Feminist in a Software Lab" with Tara McPherson (more invited participants will be added later). The session will start off with Tara talking about her 2018 book Feminist in a Software Lab: Difference + Design, her work on creating multimedia platforms for digital scholarship, and more generally, her experience from working at the intersection of technology, media and the human and the humanities, and innovating at a university invested in media and technology.

Tara's introduction will be followed by perspectives from other invited participants, including students, and an open dialogue which will also address gender, race, difference and technology within the context of contemporary society and institutes of technology. How do we best tackle difference in design work? Can software be feminist? What are the most productive intersections between the humanities and technology? What kinds of infrastructure and systems should we build for a better society? What are the opportunities and challenges at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology?
